Sports Massage revitalises the muscles, tendons and other soft tissue in the body. The pressure applied ensures that the body works harder to eliminate any lactic acid build up (which happens when you use your muscles intensively, such as after a hard run or cycle) and improves the efficiency of your body. In turn, this helps to speed up recovery times, prepare the body for the next round of training and improve the overall performance. It is also a fantastic method for injury prevention.
A person with any kind of injury or pain can benefit from a sports and remedial massage. This will start the healing process and can contribute to preventing any further injury. This massage technique helps you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissue. During the massage, smooth, flat stones heated to 55-63 degrees are placed on specific parts of your body. These stones are usually volcanic and retain heat.
The stones may be placed along your spine, on your chest, stomach, face, palms or feet and toes. The therapist may hold the heated stones as they massage your body.
Helps relieve muscle tension and pain by increasing blood flow to the affected area. It can increase flexibility and the range of motion and reduce any spasms that you may be having. If the stones are used cold, then it reduces inflammation. Alternating between hot and cold stones may be helpful.

Anybody! If you are experiencing muscle tension, pain insomnia or stress, then you may benefit from a hot stone massage. If you have a chronic condition that causes you pain, then please talk to your doctor to see if hot stone massage is a good option for you.
If you have recently had surgery or have any open wounds, you should not proceed with a massage. Also, if you have a bleeding disorder (such as haemophilia), take blood thinners or a history of blood clots, this is not the treatment for you. If you have any burns on your skin, osteoporosis or diabetes, we would also not recommend this treatment.
This is an advanced manual therapy treatment that can be used for relieving different areas of pain throughout the body which can be affected by chronic pain or sports injuries. This technique uses 2 pieces of metal, a ‘Mullet’ and a ‘Mallet’. The tools work together to provide stimulus to areas of pressure and pain.
By using these tools, our expert Rock Blade Massage Therapist can eliminate pain, improve sporting performance, improve muscle function and remove scar tissue. The blades help reach the parts of the body that are difficult to reach with hands and improves the precision of the treatment. This should not be painful, but it may cause some discomfort as this is a deep tissue massage. You will have some redness in the area where the blades have been used.
It creates myofascial (connective tissue) release through stimulating the body’s nerve response, which in turn reduces your pain, allowing improved movement patterns and improved muscle activations
Cupping Therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine, dating back to Ancient Egypt, Chinese and Middle Eastern cultures in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few moments to create suction. The first recorded used of this type of therapy dates back to 1550 BC! People often use this therapy to help with pain, inflammation, to improve blood flow, relaxation and well-being and also as a type of deep tissue massage.
During the therapy, our expert therapist may put a flammable substance into the cup and set it on fire. When the fire goes out, the cup gets put onto your skin. As the air inside the cup cools down, it creates a vacuum causing your skin to rise and redden as your blood vessels expand. However, there is a more modern version of this which uses a rubber pump instead of fire to create the vacuum. This is now a more popular version of the therapy as it avoids any danger of minor burns to the skin.
In your first session you will get anything from 1-5 cups and it is rare to get anything more than 7 cups in a treatment session. The skin will remain red and marked for up to 10 days after your session.
This has proven to be an effective treatment when used in conjunction with other treatments such as acupuncture for conditions such as acne, facial paralysis or cervical spondylosis (age-related wear and tear affecting the spinal disks in your neck).
It is important to talk to your doctor before having cupping therapy to make sure there are not any conditions that you may have that would prevent this from being an effective treatment for you.

Click HereIn Sweden, ‘Swedish Massage’ is simply known as ‘Massage’! It is a classic treatment that is the Western standard for massage.
It consists of a whole body massage that works on all of the soft tissues and muscles to restore them to health – this creates a calming and balancing effect on your whole nervous system.
There are 5 main techniques used in a Swedish Massage :
The techniques that your expert therapist will us are designed to improve your circulation, soothe your muscles and generally make you feel more relaxed.
Unlike deep tissue massage or sports massage, Swedish massage therapy uses softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body and stronger strokes where the muscles are thicker. Due to this expert adjustment of pressure, Swedish massage can be seen as an ideal massage for relaxation.
As well as soothing tight muscles and generally improving well-being, there are lots of other benefits of this type of massage, including :
Your massage will probably last around 45 or 60 minutes. Your therapist will give you time to undress privately and lie down on the massage table, which is usually padded for extra comfort and you may cover yourself with towels. There is no need to be completely exposed at any point as your therapist will uncover only the bits where they are working. If at any point you are feeling uncomfortable, then please don’t hesitate to say so.
Your therapist might assess your complexion at the start of your treatment and choose essential oils or lotions to suit your skin type. These will be massaged into your body with a series of techniques and strokes that are specific to the part of your body where they are working and what you want to achieve. This could be long gliding strokes over your back to help you relax, or rubbing of your shoulders to help relieve any tightness and knots. The treatment will be relaxing as it takes into account each part of your body.
Your therapist might have some calming music during your massage or candles to improve the mood. Please say if you would prefer not to have them or if you are unhappy with anything else in the treatment room. We want you to be relaxed and unwind during your session, so we want it to be perfect!
Our therapists are always sensitive to your mood and will communicate with you as much or as little as you want. If you like to chat, then they will chat. If you prefer silence, then they will just focus on the magic of their hands!
Afterwards, you'll probably feel quite relaxed and maybe even sleepy, so give yourself plenty of time to unwind. Savour the feeling of having every muscle in your body gently stretched and smoothed out.

Although there is no scientific evidence to prove that massage can trigger miscarriage, we will not provide this as a sensible precaution during the most vulnerable time, which can be the first trimester.
It is also better to avoid pregnancy massage if you are suffering from particularly bad vomiting or nausea, although some massage therapists may be able to help you with these symptoms. If you are at high-risk of placental abruption or premature labour, then you should avoid pregnancy massage.
Whilst there is not much information about this, as testing and researching on pregnant women is generally avoided on ethical grounds, there are many wide-ranging benefits
